I call them the dogs of the rodent kingdom, so sociable and sweet.
I especially love your heart for your grandkids.
I feel so thankful that you went on this drive. I can only imagine how special Tori feels in the security of her Omie's love.Angcathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12884540005550789219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30458926.post-1403409108692476552015-02-09T12:19:23.498-05:002015-02-09T12:19:23.498-05:00Oh, Brave Raven, I love the phrase, "Diplomat...Oh, Brave Raven, I love the phrase, "Diplomatic Immunity!" It suggests...I loved "But I am her Omie." It suggests the grandparents have certain rights that are understood by both parents and grandchildren to be special. You have a sort of "diplomatic immunity" when it comes to decisions like rats. These rats are more fortunate than they realize. They will have a charmed life.Brave Ravenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17733103587162063516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30458926.post-77440613614260242492015-02-09T07:47:00.297-05:002015-02-09T07:47:00.297-05:00Dave, again you made me laugh out loud! I must confess, I wasn't drawn to hold the rats, and one of my co-workers almost screamed at the thought of having two rats in her car. It wouldn't happen, she said. :)Belindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09251920708783268740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30458926.post-65798462179358901062015-02-09T07:45:06.883-05:002015-02-09T07:45:06.883-05:00Dear Anon, Thank you for being so with me in the a...Dear Anon, Thank you for being so with me in the adventure and for the lovely analogy of a car as a "time capsule." I love that very apt thought--that we were sort of suspended in time and space while the rubber rolled over the road. :)Belindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09251920708783268740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30458926.post-61098973514869176702015-02-09T07:26:42.425-05:002015-02-09T07:26:42.425-05:00It was so much more than a trip to pick up rats.

I associate rats with disease, fleas, black plaque...and biology class. Yet, I certainly can associate with the precious time spent with one you love. There is something about traveling in cars with someone. It is a "time capsule" - time suspended and shared. I have had the best conversations with my husband while driving in the car. There seems to be enough distraction to allow free conversation without the intensity of staring in each others eyes. How wonderful that you made this memory. All sounds lovely, except the rat part!!! :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
